Fiume Velino – Rolling dam to protect the city of Rieti – I Lotto (Province of Rieti)

Design of a rolling dam, with a reservoir volume of 974.020 m3, downstream of an entire system of rolling tanks in series for a total of 5,614,000 m3, intended for the rolling of the floods of the river Velino, to protect the City of Rieti.

The designed works, functional to the construction of the accumulation tank are: 1) a regulation product in c.a. which acts as a safety spill and bottom drain (as well as a barrier crossmember) of the expansion tank: height = 8.5 m, dam body volume = 6.300 m3, overflowing threshold length = 23.0 m; 2) an earth embankment with a trapezoidal section that delimits the area of ​​the crate itself with length = 135 m, crowning height 395.50 m s.l.m. and average height of about 4.0 m.
